General Weather Update:
The National Weather Service is currently calling for 3-7 inches of snow with locally higher amounts possible on Friday.
Metro preparation and coordination is well underway, and we expect to have department information communicated to you tomorrow.
For now, I wanted to share that our primary and secondary snow routes are being pretreated.
During and after the event, primary routes will be plowed until they’re cleared, then secondary routes, then post-secondary routes.
You can view information about snow removal, including snow route maps, at https://www.nashville.gov/…/right-way…/snow-removal
Thanks to recent snowplow purchases approved by the Council, Metro now has 40 snowplows available to help residents travel.
Keep in mind that, while we’re better prepared than ever, NDOT manages over 5,900 lane miles of road so clearing routes will take time.
